Kenya PM Raila Odinga Salutes ‘Mashujaa’

PM Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga hails Mashujaa for a great performance.

Kenya's prime minister Hon Raila Odinga on a stop-over in London from Washington joined thousands of Kenyans in congratulating Kenya's sevens team ‘Mashujaa’ for their galactic performance at the Twickenham London Sevens.

Speaking to Kenya London News, Hon Odinga said he was humbled by the hard work the young team had put in to win the bowl trophy in the London Emirates Sevens.

The Kenya team throw up a mock-fall in their celebratory jig on the Twickenham pitch after beating Wales in the Bowl final.
The Kenyan team which was this year's the most popular in the tournament buoyed by a fantastic fan base, put Kenya in the positive International headlines, coming timely following the recent PR disaster due to the constant political bickering that has customised the political front.

The media frenzy around the Kenya Team was welcome. The Prime Minister called on the local media to strife for a complete shift from cheap politics and instead focus on issues that are of benefit to Kenyans.

The Prime Minister mentioned he had held successful meetings in Washington and was confident the relations between the two countries were sound.  He also had kind words for the Diaspora whose lobby and contribution helped Kenya in 2007.

The Prime minister's message was delivered to the Kenya Sevens team through team Coach Ben Ayimba.
